The courses have to be agreed on with the supervisor and approved by the dean of studies. Apart from that, various master and\/or bachelor courses are usually fine. Bachelor\u2019s courses are not accepted at all, regardless of faculty (e.g., you cannot take a bachelor\u2019s course from the Electrical Engineering faculty and count it towards your PhD studies). Master\u2019s courses from other faculties may be accepted if they bear some relevance to your work, though this varies from institute to institute, so it\u2019s best to discuss it with your colleagues.
