Mental health

Students

The psychological student counselling service offers mental health counselling completely free of charge. If you are experiencing any stress, negative changes in your mental health or difficulties to pursue your studies, feel free to contact them for free consultation and support.

Over the lifetime, everyone experiences mental health challenges. One in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives.

The counselling topics involve but are not limited to:
Getting started at university (developing organizational skills, dealing with high workload, lack of individualized feedback, connecting to other students, …)

Boosting academic performance (learning techniques, increasing efficiency, dealing with fear of failure…)
Handling personal challenges (family conflicts, problems with your supervisor, feelings of anxiety, …)

-Challenges of studying abroad in Austria (language barriers, establishing meaningful relationships and friendships, homesickness, frustrations with the Austrian way of life, …)
Personal development (improve self-confidence, relaxation techniques, soft skills, team work, …)

There are group offers (graduation, learning training, thesis, choice of study, social competence, …) or individual counselling.

To be able to admit weaknesses and problems and to be helped is an essential strength that many successful people have (e.g. many top athletes have a mental coach). If you know a friend with psychological problems, you can recommend the student counselling service to your friend and support the person by offering to go together.
